Restaurant OPUS

the name says it all

Michelin Starred Cuisine at the OPUS Restaurant in Vienna

At OPUS, architect Josef Hoffmann's landmark Viennese 30ies-style stands in perfect harmony to cutting-edge modernity. Gracefully restored furniture arranged within this historic setting almost melts into elaborate wooden-paneled walls, while exquisite fabrics add gradients of pleasant colors to the scene.

Exquisitely light dishes inspired by Austrian cuisine. Tradition with a modern touch. Our team knows how to delight the refined taste by combining its culinary expertise with fresh ingredients of local produce.

From a menu and wine list of complementary design guests select tempting delicacies and fine wines to experience an enchanting evening amidst sensory splendor.

The OPUS restaurant at the Hotel Imperial ranks amongst Vienna's leading gourmet restaurants and has been awarded with 88 Falstaff points, three Gault&Millau toques and 16/20 Gault&Millau points.

Executive Chef

Werner Pichlmaier

As Executive Chef, Werner Pichlmaier is responsible for the legendary Café Imperial Wien and the unparalleled banquets of the Palais Hotel as well as for the three-toque restaurant OPUS. His talent and passion for culinary art was manifested by his father in his parents' gourmet restaurant "Der Pichlmaier" in Graz-St.Peter. At the age of ten Werner Pichlmaier was allowed to help out in the kitchen with his two brothers after finishing his homework at his regular table in the restaurant. While his great role model was the German three Michelin Star Chef Dieter Müller at the time, Werner Pichlmaier is now inspired by specialist magazines and, more recently, by Instagram for extraordinary gourmet dishes.

The culinary signature of Pichlmaier stands for regional-global cuisine. The passionate Styrian relies on top products from home and likes to complement this with high-quality French products from sustainable cultivation. A conscious and appreciative approach to food always accompanies the Executive Chef's craft.

Culinary Pleasure For 150 years composers, maestri and authors have been part of a long list of illustrious guests at the Hotel Imperial. A meeting place for artists, a place for dialogue and a location where a wealth of creativity has given birth to many masterpieces. We want to offer you an elegant stage and at the same time a discrete setting for many inspired and delightful conversations.

And so the name stands for the program - classic and immediate - locally rooted, with an international claim. OPUS - Latin for creation, particularly of a composer and yet also for the conception of any kind of masterpiece.
